Our story
A Key Shop That Grew Up With Houston
From hand-cut keys to biometric vaults — the tools changed, the standard didn’t.
Houston Safe & Lock opened its doors in 1923, when Houston was a young port city and a good lock was a hand-fitted piece of craftsmanship. For over 100 years since, we’ve done one thing: expert security for Houston’s families and businesses — safes, locks, and the people who know them inside and out.
Today that means the largest safe showroom in Texas — 5,000 square feet of gun safes, home and office safes, jewelry safes and commercial vaults you can open, close and compare in person. It means an in-house delivery crew that brings your safe inside and bolts it down, and certified locksmiths in fully stocked vans covering all of greater Houston.
We’re not a marketplace, a call center, or a franchise. We’re a Houston shop with a front door, and we’ve had the same phone manners for a century.
Continual education keeps our technicians ahead of security technology — from master key systems and access control to smart locks — and our standing as Houston’s only authorized Medeco and Mul-T-Lock service center means the highest-security hardware in the industry is serviced here, by us, not shipped somewhere else.

King Safe & Lock joins the family, adding a second showroom on the Katy Freeway in Memorial.
