Houston Safe & Lock has been a family business in Houston since 1923. This policy explains what we learn about you when you use our website, ask us for a price or a service, call or text us, or buy from us, and what we do with that information. In short: we use it to answer you and to do the work you ask for, we don’t sell it, and you can ask us to see, correct or delete it.

Who we are

Houston Safe & Lock (“we”, “us”) sells, delivers and installs safes and provides locksmith services in the Houston area. The business is operated by Houston Locksmith – AD, LLC and Houston Security Products, LLC. Information we collect

Information you give us

When you ask for a price, a delivered total, a locksmith quote or an appointment, or send us a question through our website, we ask for:

  • your name, phone number and email address (and your company’s name for business service), and how you’d like us to reply (call, text or email);

  • your ZIP code and, for a safe, the kind of property and where the safe would go;

  • the safe or service you’re asking about, your timing, your question or comments, and any photos you choose to upload.

When you buy a safe or book a service, we also keep the delivery or service address, the details of your order or job, and a record of your payment. Our website doesn’t take payments or ask for card numbers; when you pay by card, your card details go to the payment processor we use.

Before we open, rekey or change a lock, or make keys for a home, business, vehicle or safe, we ask to see photo ID and proof that you live there, own it or are authorized to have the work done, and we may note what we checked on the work order.

When you call, text, email or visit us, we keep a record of what you tell us so that we can help you.

Information collected when you use our website

When you visit our website, we and the services we use collect information about your visit through cookies and similar technologies (see Cookies and similar technologies below): the pages you view and the page a request was sent from, the website, search or ad that brought you here, your browser and device type, and your approximate location based on your internet (IP) address.

Phone calls

Our website may show a call-tracking phone number from CallRail in place of our main number. When you call it, CallRail records the number you’re calling from, the time and length of the call and the page, search or ad that led to it, and connects you to us. Calls may be recorded for quality and training.

How we use your information

  • To answer your questions and send you the prices, delivered totals and quotes you ask for, by the method you choose.

  • To schedule and carry out deliveries, installations and locksmith work, and to follow up afterwards.

  • To confirm identity and authorization before locksmith work.

  • To order safes and parts from manufacturers, register warranties and help you with warranty claims.

  • To keep business, tax and warranty records and meet our legal obligations.

  • To understand how people use our website and which ads and searches bring customers to us, so that we can improve them.

  • To protect our customers, our business and our website from fraud, spam and misuse.

Text messages

If you choose to hear back by text, or you text us, we’ll text you about your request: your price or delivered total, answers to your questions, and scheduling, delivery and appointment updates. How often we text depends on your request, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop our texts, or call us. Agreeing to texts isn’t a condition of buying from us.

We never sell or share your mobile number, or your consent to receive texts, with anyone for their own marketing. None of the sharing described in this policy includes text-messaging opt-in data or consent.

How we share information

We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it with other companies for their own marketing. We share it only:

  • With King Safe & Lock. Safe requests and safe questions sent through our website also go to King Safe & Lock, the second showroom listed on our site (8429 Katy Fwy, Houston), so that either showroom can answer you.

  • With service providers that work for us under our instructions: website hosting, email delivery, phone, call-tracking and text-messaging services, analytics and advertising measurement, payment processing and our business software. They may use your information only to provide their services to us.

  • With manufacturers and carriers when we order a safe or parts for you, arrange shipping, register a warranty or make a warranty claim.

  • For legal and safety reasons: when the law requires it, to answer lawful requests from authorities, to protect the rights, property and safety of our customers, our business and others, and to report suspected attempts to gain entry without authorization.

  • If the business changes hands, as part of a sale, merger or transfer, with this policy continuing to apply to your information.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Our website uses them, and similar storage in your browser, for these purposes:

  • Necessary: a session cookie and a security token that let our forms work and protect them from abuse.

  • Preferences: your browser remembers choices such as the list or grid view of our safe listings.

  • Analytics: Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, tells us how visitors find and use our site, which pages they view and when a request is sent.

  • Advertising measurement: Google Ads tells us when a visit that began with one of our ads leads to a request or a call. Our Google tag is set not to send ad personalization signals.

  • Call tracking: CallRail’s cookies remember which page, search or ad brought you to our site, so that a call can be connected to it.

  • Maps: the maps on our Locations page come from Google Maps, which may set its own cookies when they load.

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies; blocking the necessary ones may stop our forms from working. You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on, read how Google uses information from sites that use its services and manage the ads Google shows you in My Ad Center. CallRail explains its practices in its privacy notice. Our site works the same way whether or not your browser sends a “Do Not Track” signal.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy. Requests that don’t lead to a sale are kept while we may still need to follow up on them. Records of purchases and jobs are kept for warranty and service history and for as long as tax and other laws require. Photos uploaded with a request are kept with that request. When we no longer need information, we delete it or remove what identifies you.

How we protect information

Our website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Photos uploaded with a request are stored privately, not at a public web address, and only the people who handle your request can see it. No website or system is perfectly secure, so please don’t send card numbers, safe combinations, alarm codes or similar sensitive details through our forms, by text or by email.

Your choices and rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

  • tell you what personal information we have about you and give you a copy;

  • correct information that’s wrong;

  • delete your information, unless we need to keep it for a job in progress, a warranty, or our tax and legal records;

  • stop calling, texting or emailing you.

Email info@houstonsafeandlock.net or call (713) 522-5555. We may need to confirm who you are before acting on a request, and we’ll respond within 45 days. We won’t treat you differently for making a request. We don’t sell personal data, including sensitive data.

Children

Our website and services are meant for adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Other websites

Our site links to other websites, such as manufacturers’ sites, Google Maps and the online store at houstonlibertysafe.com used for some Liberty safes. Those sites have their own privacy policies; this policy covers only ours. Our Terms and Conditions explain the terms for using our site and buying from us.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. The version posted here is the one that applies.
